Red sage is a Chinese medicinal herb that is used in a number of different diseases and is also used in cosmetics. Belonging to the TCM substance group of the blood-moving herbs, the root of the red sage has a bitter taste and has a slightly cooling effect. Its special composition cools, nourishes and tones the blood.

In addition to increasing microcirculation and increasing oxygenation in the cells, red sage – also known as Danshen – has an antioxidant effect. It promotes cell regeneration, has an anti-inflammatory and invigorating effect and gives the skin a radiant complexion. This makes it an efficient component in TCM cosmetics.
